A night at The Lancaster

“Welcome to The Lancaster, Mr. Tucker, we’ve upgraded your room for you, please enjoy your stay”

I wish I had had more time at this gem in heart of Houston’s theater district, but in town with a single night of plans only left me with a moment to capture the room. The afternoon light was hitting so beautifully at check in that not shooting the room wasn’t an option. All of the details were beautifully thought out and the hospitality was top notch. The hotel is full of original art from over 100 Texan artists, and acts as a gallery of sorts as you make your way through it. One little detail was that everything stocked in the room was complimentary…in this age of endless nickels and dimes, it was so refreshing to receive thoughtful hospitality. Fresh fruit, a handwritten thank you note, and two ice cold flutes of champagne set the tone wonderfully!

If I find myself back in downtown Houston, we’ll be back to The Lancaster in an instant, and hopefully with some photos of the greater hotel this time =)
